I built this trailer myself over the course of a year for my offroad
explorations. My wife and I took it out maybe 10 times. Here are the specs on it:
Completed and registered in early 2006. Permanent registration. The body is 8' long x
4' wide with a 4' tongue giving it a total length of 12'. I left room on the front for a tongue tool box from Cabella's. Swing
down jack and wheel combo on tongue. 12 volt battery and box with wiring and lighting inside and out. 15 gallon water tank
sits under the galley as well as a fuse box. The galley has a sink, 12 volt faucet and pump, camping stove bolted in, paper
towel holder and 2 storage bins. You can customize it to fit your needs though. I left room behind the stove for a 12 volt
cooler from JC Whitney.
The frame is built from 2x2x.095 square steel and the tongue from 2x3x.120 rectangle
steel. The body is plywood, sealed inside with water sealer and outside by mobilehome rubber roofing seal. The outside is covered
by aluminum sheeting. The interior is thin oak plywood and stained. The axle is a 2000 lb. with 5x4.5 (Jeep pattern) hubs.
Leaf springs and Jeep shocks make up the suspension. Tires are 31x10.50 BF Goodrich All Terrains bolted to 15" black Rock
Crawler steel rims with 3.75 backspacing. The body has a 2' clearance from the ground. Indoor/outdoor carpet and a 5" custom
foam mattress with cover is inside on the floor. Inside length is about 6' 3". Sleeps 2 people.
There are doors and screened windows on each side. There is also a crank up vent/fan
combo on the roof. 2 double lights, 2 cup holders and a double coat hook is inside too. This will sleep 2 people and there's
room to sit and play cards or whatever. The trailer probably weighs less than 1000 lbs and is in very good condition. It has
some scuffs but nothing major. It is located in San Jacinto, Ca. I might be willing to bring it too a serious inquiry or meet
you half way, depending on distance.
May consider trade for a stock Jeep Cherokee, 82-92 Trans Am or ???.
